Would your community, or you as a Camano Island resident, like to have an Island County Sheriff’s radar trailer for a few days to “slow down the vehicle traffic” in your residential area? Volunteers of Camano’s Sheriff’s Citizen Patrol currently deploy three radar trailers. These three units were purchased with donations given to the Camano Law Enforcement Support Foundation and gifted to Island County Sheriff’s Camano Island Precinct.
Currently the volunteers have 20+ locations and are looking for additional locations.
Requirements for choosing a location are:
on a public road or within a community approved by the Island County Sheriff’s Office,
must have at least five feet (5’) beyond the white line and on a flat surface,
trailer must be within sight of several nearby houses for added security,
radar trailer must be able to remain at the approved sight for a minimum of one week before being moved to the next location.
TO REQUEST A RADAR TRAILER, FILL OUT THE FORM ON THE CLESF WEBSITE
This form will ask for your name, email, and phone number. We'll also need the closest home address to where you'd like the radar unit placed. After you submit the form, a Citizen Patrol volunteer will get in touch with you to visit and check out the location.
